The Children of Abuta Village

It takes a village to raise a child, this African saying has become a global chant that has lost its luster and force along the way. The writer of these stories has sought to reclaim and restore its authenticity in these stories set in an African village, which could be anywhere. The effort is to show that taking care of a child is not business as usual, its a deliberate and necessary act, one that has to be done with love and joy, with the involvement of family, friends and community as a whole to produce an all round happy, healthy and safe child.
