Robert Burns: His Associates and Contemporaries

This volume contains the Young, Grierson, Hope, and Train manuscripts, previously unpublished, all of which present fascinating glimpses of the Scottish poet through the eyes of people who knew him. The Young and Hope manuscripts are notable for the light they throw on upper-class opinion of Burns. The editors introductory essay offers a new and stimulating appraisal of the poet and his work.
