Pushed to the Edge

Hands across the sectarian divide - and not everyones happy. The early 1970s, and Joe, a republican sympathiser, pals up with Sharon, a Protestant girl. His cards are marked... Joes friend Mick joins the Cause and after a spell in the Kesh goes on the run with Tom, another activist. Then - they get the word; a big operation is planned in Armagh city centre. It goes horribly wrong - by accident or design? Is it another betrayal, like the 1920 Partition act? Trainors play probes the motivation and the methods of the armed struggle. Trainor has been there, seen it and done it: his exciting and informed drama unpeels the Troubles from within. PUSHED TO THE EDGE tells us something of why people fight - and die - for their ideals. Malachy Trainor writes from the inside; as a former Republican political prisoner, he is a writer of strong opinions with a flair for drama.
