Kiswahili for Beginners

The author of this book works at the prestigious Institute of Kiswahili Research at the University of Dar es Salaam. He has long experience in teaching Kiswahili to foreign learners, and the presentation is therefore sensitive to different socio-cultural and linguistic backgrounds. The base is standard Kiswahili and the book is organised into graded grammar lessons with corresponding student exercises. Grammatical formations, structural aspects and pronunciation are all covered. There is a useful Kiswahili-English glossary of vocabulary used in the main body of the text.
