Inside the Mind of a Psychiatrist: And... how to enter your own mind

From awkward therapy sessions to a grueling psychiatric residency, he navigates a field where the human mind is both terrifying and hilarious. Along the way, he encounters unforgettable patients: The Man with the Microphone in His Ear, whose paranoid delusions blur the line between comedy and tragedy, an Air Force physician who refuses to serve, and patients who struggle with the same issues that he has.
As a private practitioner, and UCLA professor, Art Smukler, MD, balances the absurdities and wisdom of psychiatry with the raw humanity of his patients - and his own.
