In the Spirit of White Wolf

The White Wolf is a real animal that also represents mystery and spiritual power, much like the poems in Jamie Collins book. His imagery, rich word choice and embrace of peace and simplicity add a deep power in this collection. Gratitude and compassion touch you throughout this journey. Many of these poems cherish and admonish Native American beliefs about people whose spirits "lowered into human form." The book starts and ends with his mini-poems. "Let peace sail across the land like a deep breath." "Surrounded by walls of skin I touch both this world and the Heaven within." Filled with powerful form and language, Collins has written a book that is a must read. Bill Brown, author of a textbook and 12 poetry collections
