DROUGHT COPING STRATEGIES

Mandera District of North Eastern, Kenya, is one of the ASAL districts which experience frequent drought. Efforts to mitigate the impact of drought from both government and donor agencies have had little impacts. The impacts of drought are devastating. This book explores the existing drought coping strategies; both formal and informal drought coping mechanisms practiced in the district and the role of stakeholders in the management of drought.
