Cartographic Science: A Compendium of Map Projections

From basic projecting to advanced transformations, Cartographic Science explores the science of cartography, or depicting a curved world on a flat surface. Supported by 30 one-page mathematical tutorials, this book progresses through several layers of mathematics to reach the significant projections developed in modern times. It contains over 100 map projections, from classic conics to contemporary transformations using complex variables. It features numerous illustrations including line drawings of individual projections and geometric drawings to support the mathematics. The text also offers appendices on Greek letters and words, a glossary of symbols, an index to projections, and more.
