About this Product
Based on a true story...
A young Sicilian girl, a quick marriage, and a fast pregnancy.
Before she knows it, Nina Niceli finds herself alone with three daughters-and a
husband who leaves to find work in New York. He promises to come back soon.
Years pass, and his letters and phone calls trickle to a stop. With nothing to lose, Nina
launches herself on a journey that carries her across the Atlantic-first to Puerto Rico,
and later to New York, where she discovers the terrible truth.
The story of a woman in search of her husband, Abbandonata is filled with twists,
turns, and authentic glimpses of Italian-American immigrant life.
It will amaze you, shock you, and delight you.
