About this Product
A Legion of Drums is K. I. Laibutas exciting journey depicting a diverse range of personal and socio-political experiences. The anthology is an ensemble of social commentaries told through powerful imagery seasoned with the undying spirit of resilience. It flows in no particular thematic sequence or with regard to the unique experiences by which they were inspired in the space of time during which they were penned. This collection echoes shared dreams, whispers of love, lamentations of broken hearts, the imaginations of an enduring society, the jeering and cheering voices united in boisterous songs and dance to worthless kings of our day, but still telling tales of hope that make life worth living in a world of sharp contradictions with which we grapple without let-up from womb to tomb. This anthology echoes voices in celebration of life, the racing thoughts of a tranquil mind, the lamentations of a dissenting populace and the un-sang praises to the beauty of creation. A Legion of Drums follows on the heels of Laibutas contribution to Boundless Voices and of his premiere anthology titled A Race in the Dark, which takes the reader through the unfathomable depths of the spoken word.
