National Human Rights Institutions and Childrens Rights in Africa

The vulnerability of children around the world and in Africa in particular cannot be over emphasized. The emergence and the recognition of children as rights bearers necessitates an investigation into the protection of childrens rights in Africa in the light of the various conventions on childrens rights. Thus, this book undertakes an examination of the mandate and activities of a few selected human rights commission/institution in Africa with a view to measuring their effectiveness on the protection of childrens rights through the implementation of International Childrens rights laws.
