Kindred Spirits: Knickerbocker Writers and American Artists

Callow explores the almost legendary association of Bryant with Cole, and he recalls such author-artist pairs as Willis and Harding, Paulding and Jarvis, Cooper and Morse, and Verplanck and Frazee. Also, the role of the Knickerbockers in the development of American architecture and painting is treated at length.
