Finding My Feet: An anthology of poetic voices Second Edition

Finding My Feet - An anthology of poetic voices Second Edition is an MPU publication and a poetry anthology that speaks of the human heart. In a world tethered to screens and sounds from headphones, poets pause. In that stillness they begin the ancient work of getting to "Know Thyself", observing what connects us and what pulls us apart. From this awareness, poets speak their truth with love, compassion and courage, reminding us of our shared humanity and what truly matters - life.

"This glorious collection begins with a selection of poems by Indigenous poets. There are poets with Greek heritage, poets with Polish heritage, poets with Italian heritage. The great Geoffrey Lehmann spoke at the launch about his great-great-great grandmother, who witnessed a corroboree on St. Kilda, soon after arriving from Ireland in the 1850s. Michael Leunig is there. Theres a poem about Ned Kelly. It is, in other words, a collection with real relevance to the social and cultural history of Melbourne and beyond."

- Caroline Overington, Australian Journalist and Editor of the Books pages in The Weekend Australian Review

"This anthology is such an inspired idea, drawing on the best work of established and published poets through to the new and emerging. So many diverse voices speaking the common language of poetry at its finest! 36 more poets here, add to the conversation started by more than 180 poets in the first edition of Finding My Feet - An anthology of poetic voices, interlacing fresh perspectives with those that came before, creating a seamless poetic continuum of the human experience that echoes across generations."

- Barrie Cassidy, Chair Museum of Australian Democracy and former host of Insiders on the ABC.

"... a page turner of world poetry and universal themes which crosses all borders and boundaries from more than 200 poets of all persuasions. As I turned each page and was greeted by a new poem, it was like receiving a gift. I couldnt put it down. Every poem was a revelation of ideas, form, passion and poetic conviction. Thank you MPU for this superb collection. It is wordsmithing at its best!"

- Sandy Jeffs OAM, Poet and author of Flying with Paper Wings
