Business leaders assessment of the business climate

The aim of this book is to evaluate the influence of company director characteristics on the assessment of the business climate in Cameroon. It uses a multinomial regression model applied to a sample of 12,062 companies extracted from the database of the second General Census of Enterprises in Cameroon (RGE-2).At the end of the study, it emerges that: (i) managers with a high level of education (BAC +2 and more) have a higher probability of rating the business climate as good; (ii) managers who have been with the company for a short time (three to eight years) have a lower probability of rating the business climate as good; (iii) non-African foreign managers have a higher probability of rating the business climate as good.Finally, it emerges that 55% of managers characteristics provide a good prediction of the business climate in Cameroon.
