Arctic Bush Pilot

During the 1950s, former United States Navy combat pilot "Andy" Anderson flew for a small airline in Alaska. After World War II, Anderson pioneered air service to Alaskas vast Koyukuk River region serving miners, Alaska Natives, sportsmen, geologists, adventurers, and assorted eccentric back-country characters. He flew mining equipment, gold, mail, live wolves, and sled dogs, you name it -- anything needed for life in Alaskas remote backcountry.
