Andiamo!: Letters From Italy

In letters home to her parents during 1974-1977, Francie, age thirty-four, relates the day-to-day challenges, joys, and discoveries of starting life in Rome with three children-ages five, four, and eight months-in a spacious home on the fabled Appia Antica with no furnishings and a husband working non-stop as the newly appointed general manager of Procter & Gambles Italian business.

Her letters glow with candor, humor, and utterly unexpected challenges as they bring to life Francies ability to deal with anything, including finding schools for the children, acquiring furniture, and dealing with thieves and the Mafia-always making the most of it all, including forming friendships which have lasted a lifetime.

Forty years after living in Rome, Francie writes the retrospective recollection of her experiences, including some events she did not want her parents to worry about at the time!

Andiamo! Letters From Italy ends with an afterword from Francie and her husband, John, recounting what the experience has meant to them and their children over the course of their lives.
