The 153rd Leicestershire Yeomanry, a Field Regiment of the Royal Artillery in the Territorial Army was one of the Armys reserve units that saw much fighting in the later stages of the Second World War. This unit history, compiled while the unit was still on occupation duties in post-war Germany covers its landings in Normandy; the pursuit of the enemy through France and Belgium; fighting against stubborn German resistance in Holland; the bitter winter of 1944/45; the crossing of the Rhine; the enemys capitulation and the first months of the occupation.
