Masters Thesis from the year 2016 in the subject Literature - Basics, grade: 2.0, language: English, abstract: This thesis compares different opinions of Jane Austen s novel ""Pride and Prejudice"" and analyses the author s ideology in it. ""Pride and Prejudice"" is the most representative embodiment of Austens feminist ideology among her six novels. Her female voice runs through this whole novel from beginning to end and makes it an anti-conduct book which challenges and rejects the predominantly accepted behavioral norms and standards. Not only on the heroine but also on the other characters it can be observed that Austen tries to struggle for womens moral autonomy and rationality and at the same time expose the absurdity of blindly following the patriarchal code of conduct.
